About myFinanceCal

Who builds this

Hi, I'm Om. I'm a software engineer, and I built myFinanceCal while planning the prepayment of my own home loan.

The calculators I found online mostly did one thing at a time: a basic EMI, or a single lump-sum prepayment. I wanted to answer the questions I actually had. What if I prepay every March when my bonus arrives? What if I raise my EMI a little each year instead? Would that money do better in a SIP? So I built the tools I wanted, and made them free for everyone.

What you'll find here

  • ✓ Home loan payoff tools: a prepayment calculator that handles one-time, recurring and custom-timeline part payments, plus step-up EMI, prepay vs invest and EMI vs rent comparisons.
  • ✓ Everyday calculators: loan EMI, home loan eligibility, SIP, step-up SIP, lumpsum and FD.
  • ✓ Planning tools: emergency fund and children's education planners.
  • ✓ Shareable results: every calculator can give you a link that reopens your exact numbers, so you can discuss a plan with family or your bank.

How the numbers are checked

The calculators use the same conventions as Indian banks, AMFI and the major Indian finance sites: reducing-balance EMIs, monthly SIP compounding and quarterly FD compounding. Every formula and assumption is written out on the How we calculate page, along with what the calculators don't include, such as taxes.

The core formulas are covered by automated tests with known reference values, and the calculations were last reviewed in October 2026.

Independence and limits

  • myFinanceCal is not linked to any bank, lender or fund house, and doesn't earn commission on any product.
  • The site may show ads through Google AdSense to cover running costs. Ads never change how anything is calculated.
  • I'm not a SEBI-registered investment adviser. The calculators are for planning and education, not financial advice. For decisions involving large amounts, confirm the numbers with your lender and a qualified adviser.

Your privacy

There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for. Calculations run in your browser and the numbers you enter are not saved on any server. The site uses Google Analytics to understand how the calculators are used, and Google may use cookies to show ads. The privacy policy explains exactly what is collected and how to opt out.
